William Yarbrough was married to Mary Frances "Franny" Gentry. They had five children including: Lula Mae, who died Feb. 13, 1918, and Horatio P. who married Sallie Richards. Lula and Horatio were both born in Richmond, VA.


William Yarbrough was a school teacher. He enlisted in the Confederate States Army on March 31, 1862 and was captured May 12, 1864 in Spotslvania, VA. He was imprisoned at Fort Delaware where he died.
