Garrett Scott Nyberg, age 19, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 13, 2008, three days before his twentieth birthday. He was born in Madison, on December 16, 1988.

Garrett attended LaFollette High School, and was preparing to join the National Guard. He was currently working for Glass Nickel Pizza. Garrett was a smart, charismatic, charming young man with many friends. He was known for his marvelous sense of humor, his ever-present smile, and his larger- than-life, playful, outgoing personality.

Garrett is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, his father, Scott Nyberg, his mother Elizabeth Moen, his brother Nicholas, his grandparents, John and Gerry Markwardt, and Anita Moen, his girlfriend Sophie Wild as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Service was held at the Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, in Madison, at 3 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, with Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding.

A visitation was held at the Gunderson East Funeral Home on Wednesday December 17, 2008 from 1 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 PM.

The Gunderson East Funeral Home of Madison assisted the family with their arrangements.
