Mrs. McGaughey Dies; Rites Held Wednesday P.M.

Honey Grove

Mrs. S. K. McGaughey, 75-year-old resident of Honey Grove, died at her home Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 1958, at 7:40 o'clock following a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at West Funeral chapel. Officiating were the Rev. Raymond Trompler, pastor of the McKenzie Methodist church, the Rev. Samuel Rice, pastor of Main Street Presbyterian church and the Rev. T. J. Watts, pastor of the First Baptist church. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery with West Funeral Home directing.

Serving as pallbearers were L. E. Ricketts, G. L. Holman, Tom Shope, D. E. Shelton, O. L. Collard and Bill Collard.

Mrs. McGaughey's survivors are one son, Jack McGaughey of Midland; four daughters, Mrs. Jack Meade of Honey Grove, Mrs. R. D. Rowton and Miss Dorothy McGaughey, both of Dallas, and Mrs. A. A. York of Okmulgee, Okla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 17, 1881, in Kentucky, Mrs. McGaughey was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hosa Collard.

She was married to S. K. McGaughey March 25, 1898, in Honey Grove. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1949.

Mrs. McGaughey was a member of the McKenzie Methodist church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Collard McGaughey were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, February 12, at the Robert West Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Officiating ministers at the last rites were the Rev. Raymond Trompler, pastor of the McKenzie Methodist Church, the Rev. T. J. Watts, pastor of the First Baptist Church and the Rev. Samuel Rice, pastor of the Main Street Presbyterian Church.

Named pallbearers were L. E. Ricketts, G. L. Holman, Tom Shope, Delbert E. Shelton, A. L. Collard and Bill Collard.

Mrs. McGaughey died at her home, 401 East Main, Tuesday morning, February 11, 1958 after a long illness.

Mrs. McGaughey, the daughter of Hosa T. and Margaret Collard, was born in Leitchfield, Kentucky, on August 17, 1881, and moved to the Honey Grove area with her parents at the age of four years.

She was married on March 23, 1899 to Samuel Keller McGaughey, who died on August 23, 1949.

Mrs. McGaughey's life was one of service to her family, church, neighbors, and many friends. She had been a member of the McKenzie Methodist Church for about forty years.

Mrs. McGaughey is survived by one son, Jack C. McGaughey of Midland; four daughters, Mrs. R. D. Rowton, Dallas, Miss Dorothy E. McGaughey, Dallas, Mrs. A. A. York, Okmulgee, Okla., and Mrs. Jack Meade, Honey Grove; a sister, Mrs. Ella Paulk, Vernon; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
