Kathleen Rita (Zang) Shane, 92, of Hampton, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at her home. She was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Pittsburgh, to the late Louis and Elizabeth (O'Dowd) Zang. Ms. Shane was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Sweden Roman Catholic Church, where she served in various ways including altar server, acolyte and cooked for funeral luncheons. She is survived by her daughters, Diana (Joseph) Jones, of Wexford, Betty (Bob) Harrold, of Hampton, and Joyce (Stan) Metnick, of Fox Chapel; sons, Richard Shane, Ron Shane, Daniel (Mary) Shane, Joel Shane, all of Hampton, and Ken (Karen) Shane, of Middlesex Township; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry Zang and Louis Zang, both of Hampton; and sister, Margaret Giel, of Richland Township. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shane was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Arture-Stragand; five sisters; and three brothers. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the HERBERT R. KING JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park, PA 15101. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Catherine Of Sweden Church with Father Pat Barkey as celebrant. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
