Son of late John Logan Dykes and Rebecca Jane Ledbetter Dykes. He was a farmer,a construction worker, trucker and timber man. He was a lifelong resident of the Dykes community and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by four sons James L. Dykes of Cincinnati OH., Jackie (and Karen )Dykes of Somerset KY., Paul David Dykes of Covington KY., and Charles M. Dykes of Somerset KY., five daughters; Gloria (and Cleo) Speaks of Somerset KY., Doris Ann Snell of Williamsburg OH., Marilyn (and Denton) Hargis of Milford OH., Jeanie (and Bob )Hughes of Winchester KY., and Eva Dean Phelps of Loveland OH., 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife; Ada Elizabeth Woodall Dykes, whom he married on January 16, 1932 in Skip KY., 2 daughters; Ruby Jewell Dykes and Violet June Dykes, 2 brothers; Alex and Fount C Dykes. Charlie passed away at the Winchester Center For Health & Rehab in Winchester, KY.
