Bruce Caves, 77, of Laguna Park, passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, in Clifton. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Wade Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Mount Calm Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening, at the funeral home.

Bruce was born in Waco, Texas, to the late John Wright and Mary Elizabeth (Goff) Caves. He was raised around Oglesby and graduated from Oglesby High School before serving in the U.S. Navy from 1953-56. He married Charlotte Lancaster in 1958, and they lived briefly in the Waco area before moving to Dallas in 1969, where Bruce worked as a machinist for Windham Manufacturing. They moved to Mount Calm in 1996, where they lived a short time before relocating to Laguna Park. Bruce also worked for several years at Texas Prestressed Concrete in Elm Mott before retiring. He loved the outdoors and guns and was an avid deer hunter.

Bruce was preceded in death by a son, Adrian Caves; a daughter, Vicky Bruner; three sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (Lancaster) Caves, of Laguna Park; daughter, Cyndi Christensen and husband, Danny, of Midlothian; son, Clayton Caves; brother, Billy Caves, of Moody; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
