The Greenwood Commonwealth, December 20, 2008: BLACK HAWK — Services for Matha "Shorty" Ainsworth will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Williams and Lord Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ainsworth, 83, of Black Hawk, died of heart failure Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at her residence.

She was a retired meter purchasing department employee with Supreme Electronics.

A native of Holmes County, she was the daughter of Ode and Myrtis Harmon Burrell.

Mrs. Ainsworth was a graduate of Goodman High School.

She was a member of the Coila Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ainsworth was a homemaker, and her hobbies included outdoor activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Ainsworth; her brother, Ray Burrell; and her sister, Dot Hines.

Mrs. Ainsworth is survived by a daughter, Audine Ainsworth of Everett; a stepson, Billy Ainsworth of Greenwood; a son-in-law, Jimmy Everett of Black Hawk; a sister, Carrie Ferguson of Durant; a brother, Ode Burrell of Gautier; three grandchildren, Steve Everett of Black Hawk, Jimmy Everett Jr. of Cayce, S.C., and Becky Mitchell of Black Hawk; two stepgrandchildren, Tommy and Cale Ainsworth of Greenwood; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

The Rev. Billy Blakely and the Rev. Glen Martin will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood.

Pallbearers will be Jack Burrell, Barry Ainsworth, Tim Crowder, Robert Ainsworth, James Burrell and Kenneth Everett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey and Pat Knox, Dr. Walter Moses, Ora King, Tina Griffin and Betty Thomas.
