Robert William Worden, 83, of Lake Ann, Michigan, passed away March 9, 2008, at his home. He was born September 21, 1924, in Flint, the son of Alvin and Matilda (Youmans) Worden.

Robert Worden was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army Air Corps. He was a past Worshipfulmaster of the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458F&AM.

Robert retired as a supervisor for the Genesee County Road Commission, where he had been employed for over 25 years. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed working in his garden. He was a voracious reader and loved learning about the History of the Civil War.

On May 29, 1947, Robert married Betty Jane Randolph, who survived him. He was also survived by: 2 daughters, Kathleen Doherty of Lake Ann, and Bonnie (Billy) Sheffield of Flint; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Jimmy Worden of Flint; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and 12 brothers and sisters.
