Funeral services for Rev. Joseph LeRoy Chance, 88, of Hornbeck, LA were held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Prewitt's Chapel Baptist Church the Revs. Douglas L. Chance and Glenn Flenniken officiated. Burial followed in the Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reese and Liza Chance; sisters, Onea Nolan and Onita Arnold; brothers, Albert, Woodrow, James and Edward Chance; son, Joseph Lane Chance; daughter-in-law, Sharon Rose Chance; grandsons, Larry Trent Chance, Kody Heath Chance and Josef Quisto' Chance.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Chance of Hornbeck, LA; sons, Douglas Chance and wife Teresa of Lake Charles, LA, Larry Chance of Florien, LA, Carl Chance and wife Susan of Hornbeck, LA and Wayne Chance and wife Kathy of Many, LA; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
