Mertie was born in Oreana, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Mathias. She married Frank Chamberlain on Jan. 14, 1909, who preceded her in death. Surviving are her sons, Ray of Decatur; Gilbert of Maderia Beach, Fla.; Kenneth of Lancaster, Calif.; and daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Hazel) Vaughn of Rock Island; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
