Jake C. Eberhard, 58, of Altamont, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham, where he had been a patient since Sunday.
Born on March 14, 1915 in Buckley, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eberhard. He married Virginia Zacha on June 14, 1953 in Altamont.
Eberhard was manager of the produce department at Young's Market in Altamont. He was a memeber of hte Immanuel Lutheran Church, and a member of the Men's Club.
Surviving are his wife; stepdaughter, Sandra Jenkins, Benton, brothers, Henry, Mt. Vernon, Ind., Rev. Leonard Dimock, S.D. Wilbert, Newton; sisters, Mrs. Esther Schmidt, Altamont, Mrs. Erma Cruise, Mt. Vernon, Ind., two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont, with burial in the Union Cemetery, Altamont. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Kull Funeral Home, Altamont.
