Wm. Quilter, Aged 65 Dies; Rites Monday
William L. Quilter, aged 65, a lifelong resident of this city died at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Toledo State Hospital.
He was born here on Aug 18, 1889 (July 29,1889), one of nine children born to the late Matthias and Mary Ann McStay Quilter. In early life he was employed by the East Ohio Gas company and later worked at the W.S. George pottery company. For a while he operated a small shop engaged in the manufacture of radiator covers.
Mr. Quilter was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes church and the local American Legion post.
Two brothers survive, Thomas Quilter of this city and Frank of Louisville.
The body arrived here this morning by rail and was taken to the Oliver Funeral home, where friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening. Services will be held from the church at 9 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Fr. Joseph M. Heid. Burial will be made in the St. Mary's cemetery.
