Professional Football Player. After graduating from Notre Dame, he was a 19th round pick in the 1956 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins. After taking a year to rehabilitate an injured knee, he played offensive tackle and guard with the Redskins from 1957 through 1961. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1962 and played with them until his retirement in 1965.
