Burial was in Hurricane Grove Cemetery at Sikes for Mrs. Taylor who died Thursday, February 9, 1978 in the local hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Sikes, Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, James Taylor of Texas City, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Mayes of Beaumont, Texas, Mrs. Earline Kelly of Sikes, and Mrs. Billie Underwood of Winnfield; two brothers, Reggie Gates of Winnfield and C. B. Gates of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Pepper of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Marie Green of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
