Born in Pickens County Alabama, "Estelle", as she was known, was the daughter of Civil War veteran James Lowe Short (1831-1903) and his wife Mary Frances Dotson (1839-1886).
Estelle married Jared "Jack" W. Cade in Meridian, Mississippi on May 24th, 1893.
To this union were born four children: Watson Lloyd Cade (1894-1955), Jessie Fatima (1899-1968), Infant son Cade (1903-1904) and Louise E. (1905-Aft.1969)
Estelle was remembered fondly by her grandchildren as a warm and loving woman.
