Mrs. Bertha Lyons, 78 years of age passed away at 4:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28, 1945, in the Butler Memorial hospital. Mrs. Lyons had been in failing health for some time and Sunday afternoon her attending physician advised hospital care, although her condition was not considered serious. She passed away about an hour after being admitted to the hospital.
Mrs. Lyons was one of Rich Hill's best known and highly respected citizens. She has lived most of her lifetime in and near Rich Hill, and has a host of friends here.
Surviving are two daughters, Flo E. Lyons, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Edith Bradley, of Butler, Mo.; two sons, Fred and Byron Lyons of Fulton, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Kramer and Miss Lena Frakes of Nevada, and Mrs. Clyde Egbert of Miami, Okla.; and two brothers, C. A. Frakes of Port Arthur, Tex., and F. N. Frakes, of Klameth Falls, Oregon.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Booth Chapel in Butler, conducted by Rev. Harlan H. Naylor. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery in Butler, beside her husband, Luther E. Lyons, who passed away in 1935.

Mrs. Bertha Jane Lyons was born September 20, 1867 in Greencastle, Ind. and passed away Sunday afternoon, October 28, at the Butler Memorial hospital at 4:45 o'clock.
Mrs. Lyons was a resident of Rich Hill but on account of failing health had been making her home in this city with her daughter, Mrs. D. O. Bradley.
Besides Mrs. Bradley, Mrs. Lyons is survived by another daughter, Miss Flo Lyons of Kansas City and two sons, Fred and Byron Lyons of Fulton, Kas.; three sisters Mrs. Fannie Kramer and Miss Lena Frakes of Nevada and Mrs. Grace Egbert of Miami, Okla.; two brothers, C. A. Frakes of Port Arthur, Tex. and F. N. Frakes of Klamath Falls, Ore.
Mr. Lyons passed away in 1935.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o-clock at the Booth funeral home. Rev. Harlan Naylor of Rich Hill, officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.
