He was born December 12, 1927 in Wetzel County, WV, the son of the late Everett and Ethel Haines Watkins.
He was a graduate of Magnolia High school, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a Methodist by faith.
He retired from PPG Industries where he worked for 42 years, a member of the American Legion Post 28, VFW Post #6327, a long time member of the Moose Lodge #931 and a member of B.P.O. Elks #333.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Rector.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carol Watkins; a daughter, Lee Ann (Brian) Schambach of Glen Dale; two grandsons, Trent and Carson Schambach at home; a brother, Jack (Barbara) Watkins of New Martinsville and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-6pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville, WV.
