Adrian Hanks is the adopted son of Charles Lewis and Bessie 'Humphries' Hanks. He is married to Ethel Hanks. They had at least one son.

Funeral services for Adrian Hanks Sr., 66, of 439 E. Johnson Ave. will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the J.J. Moran &Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
Masonic rites will be at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home by Masonic Lodge 312, F&AM, of which he was a member.
He died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday in Decatur and Macon County Hospital after an illness of three months.
Mr. Hanks was a machinist and for many years worked for the Crown Cork Specialty Corp. when that business was in Decatur.
He was born July 1, 1894, in Cook County, the son of Charles and Bessie Humphrey Hanks.
Mr. Hanks lived in Decatur for 58 years
He was married to Ethel Baker, Oct. 23, 1920, in Springfield.
Mr. Hanks leaves his wife, a son, Adrian (Sonny) Hanks Jr. of Muncie, Ind., and two grandchildren.
He was a member of Grace Methodist Church.
