Elizabeth D. Garvin Pence, 87, a resident of St. Luke's Assisted Care in Waynesboro, VA formerly of Greenville, WV, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, VA. She was born February 4, 1921 at Greenville, WV and was the daughter of the late James L. and Betty Fanning Garvin. Elizabeth was a stay at home Mom and attended the Greenville United Methodist Church in Greenville, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reo Pence, two brothers: Emmette and James Garvin; and two sisters: Julia Whitlow and Mary Shoda. Survivors include three sons: Jerry Pence and wife Jane of Waynesboro, VA, Jimmy Pence and wife Mary of Peterstown, WV, and Ronnie Pence and wife Angela of Verona, VA; one daughter Bonnie Demory of Lyndhurst, VA; two sisters: Mable Radomski of East Haven, CT and Mildred Miller of Gastonia, NC; one brother: Charles Garvin of Annapolis, MD; fourteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. Services will be at the Greenville United Methodist Church, Greenville, WV with Minister Henry Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hedding Cemetery in Lillydale, WV. Arrangements by Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, WV.
