Mrs. Rowan was born in Butler, Pa., March 18, 1911, a daughter of Ralph Goff and Agnes Mossrush Goff. She lived in Youngstown all her life until 12 years ago when she moved to New Bedford. She was a member of the New Bedford Garden Club, president of the Domestic Science Club and a member of Hopwell Presbyterian Church. A graduate of South High School in 1929, she was known for her hobbies of sewing, artwork and flowers.
Besides her husband, Glenn, whom she married in 1936, Mrs. Rowan leaves two daughters, Irma Eileen and Phylis Jean at home; her parents in Youngstown, and two sisters, Mrs. Jean Jones of Youngstown and Mrs. Naomi Curtiss Jr. of New Bedford.
