Shelby Lyn Allen, 17, beloved daughter of Debbie and Steve Allen, sister to Tera Allen, born on September 15, 1991, passed away on December 20, 2008.
Shelby was a student at Foothill High School in Palo Cedro where she maintained a high GPA, participated in sports and drama and was a member of social and fraternal organizations.
In addition to her parents and sister who reside in Redding, Shelby is survived by her paternal grandparents Spence and Dee Allen of Whitmore, CA and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Shelby was preceded in her passing by her maternal grandparents Tony and Dorothy Casas, previously of Palm Desert, CA.
Funeral services were held at St Joseph's Cemetery an December 27, 2008 followed by a celebration of Shelby's life event at the David Marr Auditorium at University Preparatory School. The family has established the Shelby Lyn Allen Alcohol Poisoning Education Fund at Redding Bank of Commerce, 1177 Placer Street, Redding, CA 96001. Donations will gratefully be accepted to help educate teens and young adults regarding the dangers of abrupt alcohol poisoning.
