BRENTON — Ada Faye Cook-Butcher, 83, of Brenton, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008, at her residence.

Born January 2, 1925, at Brenton, she was the daughter of the late Lee H. Cook (1891-1963) and Lake N. Burgess-Cook (1893-1964).

Mrs. Butcher was a member of Brenton Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Butcher Sr., on January 8, 2007; a great-grandson, Tyler Scott Butcher (1990-2003); her brother, Tracy Josiah Cook (1912-1952) + 4 other brothers; and her sisters, Ally A. Cook (1915-Deceased), Della Cook (1916-Deceased), Nola Cook (1917-Deceased) + 1 other sister.

Survivors include two sons, Richard "Butch" Butcher Jr. (B. 1945) and his wife Brenda Yvonne Kidd-Butcher (B. 1948) of Brenton and Larry David Butcher (1949-2018) and his wife Patsy Gail Adams-Butcher (B. 1948) of Brenton; a brother Theodore Cook and his wife Betty Cook of Neola; four grandchildren, Gregory "Scott" Butcher, Brian Keith Butcher, Richard Darrin Butcher and Robert Butcher; and six great-grandchildren, Zachary Brian Butcher, Amanda Butcher, Andrew Butcher, Richard Austin Butcher, Emily Butcher and Haley Butcher.

Service will be 1:00 p.m. today at Brenton Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cook Family Cemetery, Brenton.
