from a FAG member:
From the deceased Civil War Veterans I found that Julius died 16 July 1891. He
was originally buried at Hillside Cemetery, it appears he was moved to Masonic
in 1959 according to their records. He is buried in plot 336 1/2 Grave D.

from Anonymous on 12 Jun 2018, I haven't had a chance to go to the G.A.R. cemetery to see if the marker is still there, but to me the coloring looks different in the 2019 picture. In one of his three memorials information there states he was removed to Masonic Cemetery in 1955. The GAR headstone has gravel around it the Masonic one has grass. I do agree with you that this memorial didn't belong to Jacob.

from a FAG member:
I believe the memorial in the GAR cemetery was that belonging to Julius. There are many problems with the memorials.... the headstone date, the card headstone record date and his actual death date that appeared in the newspaper. Headstone date Sept. 16, 1890, card record date July 16, 1891. newspaper date of death Aug 16, 1890. The articles in the newspaper were published on August 18, 19, and 20, 1890. And then to add to the confusion there is a marker for G. A. Hussey his headstone date is Sept 16, 1890 and I haven't been able to find any information on G.A.
The wife of Julius was Nellie Dyer they had one child a son Ralph born in Maine. After the death of Julius, Nellie was living with her son and his family in San Bernardino, from there she returned to her native state of Maine and in 1904 married David Allan, they returned to California and in 1923 Nellie passed away in Berkeley. Their son Ralph passed away in a Los Angles hospital September 7, 1924.
