Frances Irene Farmer, daughter of the late John William Richard and Kathren Frank Richard, was born on May 31, 1938 at Cairo, Ill. and died in the St. John's Mercy Hospital at Washington, Mo. on March 11, 2011 at the age of 72.

Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Pentecostal Worship Center in St. Clair, a home-maker, and was a resident of St. Clair, formerly of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Robert Burdette Farmer on Feb. 27, 1954 at Dexter. Mr. Farmer preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1996.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Judy Farmer and Charles and Jeanie Farmer, all of St. Clair; by one daughter and son-in-law, Vickey and Matt VanNess of St. Clair; by one brother, Carl "Cotton" Richard of Dexter; and by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Randy Farmer, by four brothers, James Richard, Odis Jerry Richard, John Henry Richard and Willi Gene Richard, and by one sister, Nola May Johnson.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marcus Geuin and Rev. Joseph Geuin officiating. Interment followed in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter.
