A son of the late Daniel S. and Mrs. Ida Mae Bazemore, he was a native of Macon, Ga., but had resided here for the last 50 years.
He was a retired employee of the Naval Shipyard and a member of Lake Drummond Lodge 178, AF&AM.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, George W. Bazemore of Portsmouth; two daughters, Mrs. John Shannon of Portsmouth and Mrs. Ida Iehotay of Miami, Fla., and nine grandchildren.
The body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will assemble at 20 Harris Rd.
