Bonita Joyce Raney, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at her home.
She was born March 14, 1934, at Puxico, Mo., daughter of Harmon Vaden and Vera Mae Williamson Hamil. She and Kenneth Alton Raney were married July 8, 1955, in Scott City.
Raney had been a secretary and teachers aide at Scott City Elementary School. She was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Dawn (Rick) Sample and Lisa (John) Zimmer of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Robert (Wendy) Hamil of Scott City; a sister, Nina (Jim) Bizaillion of Godfrey, Ill.; four grandchildren, Luke and Ben Sample and David and Susan Zimmer.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Illmo Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Bob Herring officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Illmo Baptist Church, 802 Second Street East, Scott City, Mo., 63780.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
