Passed away peacefully at her home 714 Randolph St., Jackson, Michigan on April 27, 2008 (three months before her 94th year of birth). Her niece, with whom she lived, Sister M. Annrita Bauer, RSM, and another niece, Theresa, and her husband, John Trudell, were at her side. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Rosalia Bauer. Her mother was the Catholic Mother of the year in 1950. Her seven brothers, Alphonsus, Reverend Father Lawrence, Reverend Father Edwin, Brother Christopher, Brother Protase, all from Holy Cross of Notre Dame, John and Joseph also preceded her in death; and her six sisters, Mary Conley Wolf, Sister M. Joseph, Sister M. Philomena, Sister M. Rita, Sister M. Bernard, and Sister M. Augustine, all who were Sisters of Mercy. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Cathrine (Katie) Bauer and Olivia Bauer; many nieces and nephews; and many grand, great-grand, and great-great-grand nieces and nephews. Anna was the priest housekeeper in Manchester, Wyandotte and Grosse Ill for 42 years. She spent her last years making thousands of rosaries for the missions. She volunteered at Wyandotte General Hospital, totaling over 4000 hours. She was an avid card player and enjoyed bowling. She baked pumpkin rolls and hundreds of cookies for Church functions and shared them with family, friends and neighbors. She was always doing things for the Missions. The visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2008 at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Jenter Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m., with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 with Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Father Timothy Krzyzaniak officiating, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), Hospice of Jackson/Oaklawn or missions of your choice. Interment St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
