Goldie Boucher Champagne, 94, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the New Brighton Care Center, New Brighton, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, June 3, 2002 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father John Kleinwachter presiding. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery of Oklee.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, from 5 to 8 PM at the church with a 7:00 Wake service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service in the church on Monday.

Goldie Perreault was born on April 30, 1908 in Cass Lake, MN, the daughter of Louis and Edith (Gaudette) Perreault. She moved with her family to Brooks, MN when she was three years old. She was confirmed and baptized into the Catholic faith and attended school in Brooks and one year in Red Lake Falls.

On November 16, 1925 Goldie was united in marriage to Albert O. Boucher in Brooks, MN. The couple moved to Cudahy, WI, where they lived for three years. Goldie and Albert retuned to live on his parent's farm in Lambert Township, near Oklee. They moved to Oklee in 1940, where they lived until after Albert's passing in 1984. In 1987 she married Amedie Champagne at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee. Goldie moved to Valley Home in May of 1994 and in November of 1994 she moved to the Minneapolis area.

Goldie worked at various area cafes, bowling alley and dry cleaners in Oklee. She is best known as a seamstress by those who knew and loved her.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Oklee, St. Ann's Altar Society, taught Catechism and was very active in the church.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, playing cards, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Goldie is survived by five daughters: Leila (Lee) Medrow of Oak Creek, WI, Elaine (Mike) Brown of Missoula, MT, Joanne (Francis) Bradley of Brooks, MN, Marlene Martini and special friend, Bryan Buck of Coon Rapids, MN and Mary (Eddie) Walseth of Thief River Falls, MN; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters: Viola Mostad of Grand Forks, ND and Mae Champagne of North Carolina; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Albert in 1984; her husband Amedie in 1994; son-in-law Robert Delage in 1995; granddaughter Rhonda Delage in 1986; great grandson Joshua Krebs in 1988, one brother Joe Perreault; and two sisters: Anna Lambert and Lilly Richard.
