Naomi Sidonia Edding, age 88, passed away Monday, December 22, 2008. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 27, at Peace Lutheran Church, 8240 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138, where services will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Nature Center or Peace Lutheran Church. Naomi was born August 12, 1920, in Benton County, Mo., to Adolph and Emma (Kunolt) Gerken. She lived most of her life in Kansas City, where she was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She also belonged to the Friends of the Lakeside Nature Center and Friends of Missouri Town. She leaves her daughter, Nancy Massey and husband James of Belton; two granddaughters, Robin Massey of Blue Springs and Rhonda Welch of Kansas City; three great grandchildren; sister Carol J. Lumpe of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edding, whom she married November 30, 1941, son James H. Edding and brothers Narva Gerken and Willis Gerken.
