Mrs. J. C. Abernathy
Last rites for Mrs. Octavia Abernathy, who died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. B. Castle at Doddsville, May 30th, were held at the Castle residence Tuesday afternoon, May 31st, at 4 o'clock with the Rev. C. M. Alexander of Schlater officiating. Burial was in McNutt Cemetery under direction of Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Abernathy was born in Alabama December 28, 1886, and was married to J. C. Abernathy in 1903. She was a member of the Huntsville Presbyterian Church and has been ill for the past four months.
In addition to her husband, she leaves five daughters, Mrs. Alma Linebarger and Mrs. Pearlie Castle, Doddsville, Mrs. Blanche Aust, Itta Bena, Mrs. Lore Williamson, Belzoni and Miss Mamie Abernathy, French Camp; and two brothers, Clem Hodo, Indianola and D. Hodo, Chicago, Illinois.
