Funeral Saturday
Funeral for George W. Baxter, 88, of Iowa Street will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street, with the Rev. Eli Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Mr. Baxter died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 1995, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was retired from Cummins Engine Co. and was a member of Lighthouse Full Gospel Tabernacle.
Born March 8, 1907, in Jefferson County, Mr. Baxter was the son of George and Anna Bishop Baxter. He married Ella Richardson Nov. 17, 1956, in North Vernon. She survives.
Mr. Baxter was preceded in death by a son, William Chester Baxter; three brothers; and two sisters.
