COCHRAN-Services for Mrs. Meldon Phillips, 50, who died Friday in a Hawkinsville hospital after a short illness, will be held at 3pm Saturday in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jearl Fordham, the Rev. A. T. Faircloth, and the Rev. Lamar Williams will officiate with burial in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, J. Meldon Phillips of Cochran; a daughter, Miss Jean Phillips of Cochran; four sisters, Mrs. Jack Walton of McIntyre, Mrs. Betty Sapp of Warner Robins, and Mrs. Bobby S. Moore and Mrs. Jewel Jacobs, both of Fernadina, Fla.; and three brothers, Clive Bethune Jr. of Warner Robins, Robert Bethune of Fernadina, Fla., and Ralph Bethune of Savannah.
The family asks that in lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Playschool for Exceptional Children in Cochran or Gracewood State School and Hospital in Augusta.
The body will be at Fisher Funeral Home until 2pm Saturday when it will be taken to lie in state at the church until the funeral hour.
