John, Jr. was the oldest of three children born to Stella and John Myszka. John and Anna were united in marriage on July 15, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. They were the parents of four children: Lawrence Anthony, Nancy Anne, John Peter III and Karen Sue. At the time of his death, John lived at 515 North 86th Street in Bethel, Kansas. He died at Bethany Hospital after an illlness of several months. John was an engineer and was employed for 20 years at Witte Engine Works. He was a lifelong Kansas City resident and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Z.N.P. Lodge, a Polish fraternal organization.

Surviving him were his wife, Ann; two daughters, Nancy and Karen; two sons, Larry and John III, all of the home; his parents, Stella and John of 8501 State Avenue; a sister, Wanda Stull, 8501 State Avenue; and a brother, Eddie Myszka, of 310 North 15th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation and the Rosary were at the Butler Chapel, 22 South 18th Street. Funeral services were the following morning at the chapel, followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
