Known best as Frank W. Allender, or F W Allender. Attorney in Los Angeles and unsuccessful Democratic candidate for the California State Assembly in 1902. Died in the small pox outbreak in Los Angeles during 1926.

On 24 Jun 1897 Frank visited Los Angeles and was noted to be of the San Francisco law firm of Collier & Allender. It is noted he married Nellie Fitzmier in Santa Barbara on 3 Jul 1897 and was back in Los Angeles the next day reading the Declaration of Independence at the Los Angeles 4th of July city celebration.

Frank was admitted to the California Bar on 15 Oct 1901 by examination. At the time of admission his stated address was Los Angeles. His sponsors were: George F. Dennie, W. McKinley and W. F. Fitzgerald.

From the Bench and Bar of Los Angeles County, Aug 1922:

“Frank W. Allender who has offices at 333 Bryson Bldg. was born at Peoria, Ill., March 8th, 1869, is the son of William F. Allender and Mary Louise Allender, educated in Public Scholl of L. A. August 22, 1892, in the Superior Court before Judge J. W. McKinley, and before the Supreme Court of Calif. Oct 15, 1901. Mr. Allender is a married man and Chief Counsel for defense in the Coronel Litigation, also for defense in Indian Pete Murder case, Mary Garcia case. Atty. for Pedro Morales, charged with killing George Lee Wilson at Monrovia in 1897. A deputy Sheriff, trial taking place in 1902. Has taken active part in City, County and State Politics as a Democrat, also in the Mayorality Campaigns in the past and especially what is known as the Rose Campaign, an advocate of public improvement for advancement of Los Angeles.”

The Oxnard Courier reported on 28 March 1913 that on the previous Friday, Frank with Clara was on his way to his automobile from his ranch in the Calabasas Valley when they were stopped at gun point and forced to turn back by Warren Udall, an escapee from the state hospital for the insane. Udall was conducting a reign of terror in the Calabasas Hills until he was captured by police.
