Russian Princess, nee Countess Carlow. Born in Oranienbaum (now Lomonosov), near St Petersburg, Russia. She was the daughter of Duke George of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Countess Natalia Carlow. She was killed on duty.

"GALITZINE. On Oct. 8, 1940, accidentally, Princess Catherine Galitzine, beloved wife of Prince Vladimir. Funeral tomorrow (Thursday) 11.30 a.m. at the Russian Church, 188, Buckingham Palace Road. Instead of flowers, donations to the Russian Church." (The Times (London, England), Wednesday, Oct 09, 1940; pg. 1; Issue 48742.)
