CHARLES ASRO "Charley" GOINGS was the 2nd child of Alonzo Stubblefield Going and Pearl Cathern Holt Going.
He was named after his Grandfather, Charles Asro Going. Charles' mother, the twins Pearl Imogene and Alonzo Seburn Goings added an "s" to their last name (Goings) after the death of their father and upon moving to Oklahoma. It was explained that when the children entered school in Oklahoma their teachers automatically added an "s" to their last name and they just got used to the change and stopped trying to correct everyone.
Charles' oldest brother, Duel Glen Going left the family when he was old enough to return to Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas, and kept his last name without an "s".
1st marriage was to EUGENE JEAN RAMSEY 21 Jul 1936 in Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas. This was an interesting marriage as "Jean" was the ex-wife of Charles' uncle, Charles Elvie Holt.
