George W. Tracy dies of hear trouble- Had been Deputy Sheriff of Washington County. George W. Tracy died at his home in Weiser, 928 East Court Street at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon following an illiness of about two months for dropsy of the heart. Mr. Tracy was almost 80 years of age and for a number of years he has been janitor of the courthouse. He was a faithful worker and gave entire satisfaction up until the time his illness compelled him to give up the work. He came to this part of the country from Beaver City, Utah and has been identified with the affairs of the county from the first. At one time he was deputy sheriff and filled that office with credit.

At the outbreak of the Cival War he joined the cause of the south and fought under Gen. Breckenridge. In 1868 he was married to Miss Emily B. Clark and of the nine children born to them seven are still living. The sons are Louis F. Tracy of this city and Geo. W. of Baker City. The daughters are Mrs. Edna Monteith, Mrs. Louise Wilburn and Mrs. Susie Rowland of this city and Mrs. Bertha Pursell [Purcell] of Baker City.

Mr. Tracy leaves many friends who will sympathize with the relatives.
