Elmer Tatman living 10 miles northeast, died, Saturday, July 7, 1888, at 5:30 p.m., aged 19 years, of erysipelas. The disease started from a carbuncle on the neck. Elmer was a good boy, the pride of his parents, was just budding into useful manhood, but the avenger death claimed and laid him low beneath the sod of the valley.
