Georgia Louise Adwell, 80, Ravenwood, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008.
Mrs. Adwell was born near Ravenwood on September 23, 1927, to Irvin C. Patterson and Nellie E. Loomis Patterson. due to the death of her mother, she was raised by her uncle, Arza; and aunt, Bessie Loomis.
Georgia attended the Labelle rural grade school and was graduated from Ravenwood High School in 1945 in a class of 12. She attended the State Teacher's College at Maryville, Missouri, and taught school for two years in rural Nodaway County, Missouri.
She was baptized into Christ on April 4, 1943.
Georgia married John Adwell on March 8, 1947. They farmed in the Ravenwood area all their lives.
She was a member of the Ravenwood Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes, played the piano and served as custodian for about 25 years.
Georgia and her husband enjoyed volunteering at the Golden Living Center, where they led the bell choir for seven years. She was also a member of the former LaBelle Club.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John.
She is survived by daughter, Margery Plumb, and husband, Tom of Shelbyville, Missouri; son, James Adwell, and wife, Sharon of Ravenwood; 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Philip and Caleb Plumb, Brad, Brett, and Meranda Adwell, Manessa Runde, Kelly Quinlin, and Jeff, Craig and Dallas Archer; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, July 12, 2008.
Burial: Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, Missouri.
