Florence Minnie Jarnecke was born May 2, 1904 at Coon Rapids, Iowa to Henry C. Jarnecke and Minnie E. (nee Anderson) Jarnecke. She married Fred E. Weatherby on June 19, 1929 in Coon Rapids. They moved to Des Moines in 1942. She was a homemaker and member of West Des Moines Christian Church. Florence worked at Harder Drug Store in Windsor Heights and was a member of a sewing club in her neighborhood. She was known for the delicious cookies she baked and many afghans and fancywork she created for her family and others.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Beeson of West Des Moines; a son, Don of Sioux City; and four grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines on September 29, 1990. Rev. Randy Ehrhardt of West Des Moines Christian church will officiate. Burial will be in the Weatherby family plot in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
