Mr. Sherry A. "Butch" Ashby, 61 years old, a resident of 727 Manor Street, Lancaster, Pa., died unexpectedly at home of natural causes, on Thursday night, January 30th.

Butch had been a tractor-trailer driver for the former Kemps Food Inc., Lancaster, Pa., for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2002.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and a life member of Millersville-Manor VFW Post #7294.

Butch enjoyed bowling, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Born in Lancaster, Pa., on February 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Elvin L. Sr. and Mary E. Silvius Ashby.

He was the widower of Catherine L. Wike Ashby who died on April 3, 1984.

Butch is survived by three three sisters, Geraldine M. McFarland of Lancaster, Pa., Alverna M. "Susie" Weaver, and Violet, L., wife of Walter Henry, both of Willow Street, Pa.; and one brother, James F. Ashby of Juno Beach, Florida.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Aaron G. Ashby, Elvin L. Ashby Jr., George E. Ashby Sr., Kenneth C. Ashby, and Richard E. Ashby Sr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral from The Gundel Funeral Home, 415 North Duke Street, Lancaster, Pa., on Monday, Febebruary 3rd, at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Dale E. Parmer officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Memories Garden Mausoleum, in Conestoga Memorial Park; Lancaster, Pa., with military honors presented by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. Relatives and friends may call at The Gundel Funeral Home on Sunday from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The Family requests that flowers please be omitted.
