Roger Earl Hedgepeth, Sr., 60, died January 3, 2009. He was born in Isle of Wight County, a son of the late Darden Woodrow and Jesse Mildred Copeland Hedgepeth. He was also preceased by a brother, James "J. D." Hedgepeth and a nephew, Preston Lee Hedgepeth. Roger was an Army veteran of Viet Nam and a member of Zuni Hunt Club. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Hedgepeth St. Peter of Wakefield and Chelsea Hedgepeth of Franklin; a son, Roger E. "Bo" Hedgepeth, Jr. and wife Kim, of Norton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Justin Lee Taylor, Marcelo Guillermo Blanco, Jr, and Amber Nicole St. Peter; one sister, Patricia Turner and husband, Clifton, of Scotland Neck, NC; three brothers, Floyd "Teeter" Hedgepeth and wife, Betty, of Suffolk, Russell Hedgepeth and wife, Becky, of Windsor, Dennis Hedgepeth and wife, Barbara, of Boykins; and sister-in-law, Claudette Hedgepeth of Suffolk; The funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Doug Van Niel officiating. Interment , with military honors, will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wright Funeral Home, P. O. Box 743, Franklin, Va. 23851.
