Glen William Ely, son of John and Ida May Jones Ely, was born on March 23, 1913 at Circleville and passed away at the home of friends in Holton of an apparent heart attack, at the age of 54 years, 8 months and 13 days. He was reared to manhood in the Wetmore and Pleasant Grove communities.
He was united in marrage to Edna Pooler on April 22, 1939, to this union was born a daughter, Glenda Mae.
He was a faithful member of the Mayetta Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter, Vida Joleen Whearty.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife, Edna of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Dale Whearty of Westmoreland and his son-in-law; four grandchildren, Dee Alan, Lesley Glen, Johnny and Dayle Whearty, all of Westmoreland; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Boyd, Mrs. Lillian Little, Mrs. Lena Lynn and Mrs. Maude Hurst, and one brother, Clyde Ely; a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Mayetta Christian Church on December 8, 1967 at 2 p.m. Rev. Sterling Melton officiated. Interment was in the Holton Cemetery.
