WILLIAM LANIER Obituary
LANIER, Mr. William Earnest, age 76, a resident of Overton, TX, formerly of this area passed away on June 17, 2006 at his residence in Overton, TX. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens. He was born September 7, 1929 in Elmore, AL., where he lived most of his life prior to moving to East Texas. He served in the army during the Korean War and retired as a co-pilot for Conti on the Mississippi River. He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Lanier, parents Claude Ray-mond and Annie Ruth Henderson Lanier, brothers Earl Lanier, Bert Lanier and Perry Lanier, son Michael Lanier. Survivors include his daughters Paulette King of Boyd, TX, Ruth Stegall of Kilgore, TX., and Patty Kinnaman of Pettus, TX, brother Raymond Lanier of Elmore, AL., sisters Dean Lanier Stearns of Millbrook, AL, Betty Lanier Adair of Elmore, AL 8 grand-children, 7 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Pall-bearers will be Kody Stegall, Randy Lanier, Ray Lanier, Ricky Herring, Greg Herring, Jamie Rainwater, and Tony Lanier. The family ask in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 20, 2006 for 30 minutes prior to the service. Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook, AL directing.
