Marvin Stanley Abrahamson, age 78, died in Draper, Utah May 16, 2009. He was born November 6, 1930 in Fort Totten, North Dakota to Charlie and Anna Asefelt Abrahamson.

After his graduation he joined the U.S. Army and Served in the Korean War where he was a Prisoner of War for 22 months. After his discharge he moved to North Dakota and later to Seattle where he was a heavy duty mechanic for Associated Sand and Gravel Co for 22 years and an accident forced early retirement. After his retirement in 1991 he and his wife moved to Yuma, AZ. His wife Mary preceded him in death in 1999.

He is survived by 5 daughters; Brenda Ripley and Onia Courtney both of Stanwood, WA., Kimberly Axel of Libby, MT., Shelly Abrahamson of Draper, UT and Candy Litherland of Yuma, AZ. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by 1 son, James Abrahamson and 4 brothers, Willie, Charles, Harold and Lorrane Abrahamson.

Funeral Services will be at Sunset Vista Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Don Fugate officiating. Concluding services and interment will be at Sunset Vista Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post No. 19 of Yuma, AZ.

Friends who wish may pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00AM until 11:00AM.
