Private W/178839 Joan Curtis A'Lee served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (secondary unit: 211 Heavy Anti Aircraft Training Regiment 567 Battery) and was a service casualty of WW2. She was the the daughter of Charles and Annie Gertrude A'Lee nee Yell, of West Derby, Liverpool.

Joan was laid to rest in a private grave in Anfield Cemetery, Liverpool aged 20. She was entitled to be awarded the British WW2 medals and is commemorated in the UK Army Roll of Honour 1939 - 1945.

Commemorated in perpetuity by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
