He was the son of James and Delia Donovan, of 23 Third Avenue, Fazakerley, Liverpool.
Edward was killed whilst serving as Warrant Officer, Wireless Operator/Air Gunner in Albemarle V, V1770 of 295 Sqn, that took off from RAF Harwell on 28th April 1944. They collided with V1613 of the same unit during a container dropping and night map reading exercise.
