John was the son to David A.(1799-1849)and Elizabeth Ross Ogden Drake(1800-1849)Jonh was my Fourth Great Uncle, He(John)Married Amy Melissa Hinson(1842-1920)date of Marriage is unknown to me.John and Amy became the parents of these children one I know of maybe thier is more dont know.Martha Jane Drake Clark(1867-1926)(Daniel O. Clark)there is a Mary (Married Unknown)And Charles Drake,He(Charles)Was in the Civil War.Other brothers and sister to John O.Elizabeth Jane Drake(1825-1890)Vennum(Hiram Vennum)David Morris A.K.A.Maurice Drake(1825-1890)and James Patterson Drake(1829-1864)Total of three names counting John that are Civil War Veterans.John was a Private in The 35th Iowa Infantry and renlisted in the 42nd Illinois Infantry, Company K.John Enlisted in the 35th Iowa in 1862 and Discharged from the US Army in 26-March-1866,John was also wounded in battle,David was also a Private in the Civil War US Army in Company H. 12 Illinois Infantry his discharged from service was 10-July-1865.John's Name is on the Soilders and Sailors Monument,Here In Princeton Illinois,Bureau County.
