Iretta (Conley) Penix, 60, of Richwood, Ohio, died Friday evening at MedCenter Hospital. She was born January 11, 1926 in Salyersville, the late Charlie and Mellie (Auxier) Conley. She married James Melvin Penix who survives, on January 3, 1945 in Salyersville. Mrs. Penix was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Richwood, Ohio. Surviving are three sons, Roy Penix and Edd Penix, both of Richwood, Ohio and Gary Lee Penix of Salt Lake City, Utah: six daughters, Hilda Fay Gilliam of Marion, Ohio, Patricia Ann Schoenberger of Delaware, Ohio, Debby Hughes, Ella Davis and Judy McElroy, all of Richwood Ohio and Loretta Evans of Marysville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Gary Conley of Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth Conley of West Jefferson, Ohio, Don Conley Columbus, Ohio, Payne Patrick of LaRue, Ohio, and Bill Hicks of Marion, Ohio; and six sisters, Eunice Conley, Raney Conley, Carol Conley, and Patty Conley all of Columbus, Ohio, Betty Hildreth of Richwood, Ohio and Barbara Moorehouse of Texas.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Freewill Baptist Church at Marion, Ohio with Rev. Charles Dutton and Rev. Ellis Layne officiating.
Burial followed in Claibourne Cemetery at Richwood, Ohio, with Boyd Funeral Home of Marion, Ohio in charge of arrangements.
