Lorna M Abbott, 86, of Lacy, died Wednesday afternoon, November 26, 2008 at Capital Medical Center in Olympia. Born May 12, 1922 in Tumwater, to Charles W. and Edwina W. (Lloyd) Meyer. Lorna loved most of her life in Tumwater.
She married Willard J. (Bill) Abbott on February 12, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Lorna was a lifetime member of the Olympia Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Lorna worked as a beautician after graduating from Olympia High School. For over 40 years Lorna volunteered at the Seventh-Day Adventist Community Service Center, serving as director for many years.
Lorna is survived by her daughters, Nancy Abbott and Bonnie (Otis) Stelling; granddaughter, Dayna Stelling , all of Lacey; grandson, Doug Stelling of Yelm; and brother, Robert W. (Phyllis) Meyer, Sr., of Belfair.
Arrangements for services are in care of Forest Funeral Home, Olympia. a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, December 5, 2008, at Transformation Life Center. A Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1717 Eskridge Blvd., Olympia, with Pastor Tom Decker officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in her honor be made to Seventh-Day Adventist Community Service Center, 1029 Puget Street, North, Olympia, Washington, 98506.
